Jealous?
Look what we got in our big CSA boxes today...it is a bonafide mystery food. It looks like a seashell...Mrs. Ellis found this photo on a website called "Fractal Food." More photos there, and a cool article. It IS a fractal, a Fibonacci vegetable, and I will eat it. And that's how I like my math: with a little olive oil and garlic, and some pasta.

Juvenile Justice Resources
Some resources for you:
- Here's a website that supplements a Frontline production -- we will look at this in class.
- A NPR report on the Supreme Court ruling on the death penalty for juveniles aged 16-17.
- The National Center for Juvenile Justice
- A variety of links covering Juvenile Justice issues
- More links maintained by a FSU law professor who specializes in juvenile justice
- NYT links to the Lionel Tate story
- Jesse James Hollywood, the guy behind the "Alpha Dog" story
- The Lawrence King/Brandon McInerney story covered by the NYT
- Brandon McInerney charged with first degree murder and to be tried as an adult, December 2009
- The 2001 case of Nathaniel Brazil -- the kid who shot his teacher because he wouldn't let Nathaniel say goodbye to some girls on the last day of school. At age 13, he received a 28 year sentence. (What kind of 41-year old man will walk out of prison in
2029?)
